Full time Physician Assistant opportunity with the Hospitalist group at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital.  CRBH is a critical access hospital with 3-5 admissions and discharges a day. Bed capacity is 25. Our practice is comprised of 2.5 FTE physicians and 3 FTE Advanced Care Practitioners.  Night shift- 7 on 7 off with occasional day shift as needed.  Additional compensation for working nights. 

 

 

This role includes responsibility for identifying the patient's health status through taking of health histories; performing physical examinations; initiating screening and diagnostic procedures; management of minor trauma and acute health problems; health maintenance and clinical management of stable or chronically ill patients.  What We Require:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.
Experience: Clinical experience appropriate to specific practice/ department preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current Physician Assistants license (PA) required. DEA licensure required.  AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced life support is preferred and is required for those who may use a defibrillator in their practice.
Other: Meets credentialing requirements. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic’s malpractice insurance carrier. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Maintains open and supportive communications between all department members and other employees, patients and their family members.  Commitment to continued professional development. About Carilion
