The Pine Hill Mill is currently seeking experienced General Mechanic Journeymen who are dependable, and have excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills. The hourly rate of pay is $41.00 for day workers.

The Job You Will Perform:

This is a top journeyman-level general maintenance mechanic responsible to complete scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance and break-in mecahnic work along with performing many other duties both as part of a team and independently. Duties include, but are not limited to replacing valves & gaskets, basic welding, repacking pumps & valves, forklift operations, screwed pipe & tubing installations, cylinder repair & replacement, repair of rotating assemblies, roll repair and replacements, motor replacements, and repair of mechanical drive systems.

Required Experience:

* Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent

* Must be 18 years or older

* Eligible for employment in the US

* Must have two (2) of the following:

* Four-years mechanical apprenticeship

* Mechanic Maintenance degree certified from accredited college or trade school

* Two (2) or more years heavy industrial maintenance experience

* Knowledge of mechanical drives, pumps, seals, lubrication and hydraulics

* Piping layout and installation experience

* Welding experience: stick, mig, tig, certified

* Machine shop skills ex. Lathes, boring, balancing, CNC, etc.

* Willing and capable of working all shifts

* Able to work in a team environment

 

Plus – must be willing to meet the following requirements:

* Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule

* Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification.

* Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis

* Respond to emergencies during off hours and weekends

* Wear required safety equipment/PPE

* Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

* Associate degree in a maintenance discipline.

* Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.

* Strong math/physics understanding.

* Prior experience as a multi-skill mechanic. 

Candidates who are offered a position, will be required to:

* Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and submit to random drug testing while employed;

* Successfully complete a pre-employment health assessment;

* Successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
