Section Manager Engineering and Technical Services - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, OH   

 

Responsibilities Include:

• Directs, defines responsibilities, provides support, and sets performance standards for:

• Engineering Unit Managers supporting the machining and fabrication of heavy plant components.

• Supports the interface of manufacturing with production planning.

• Supports new equipment procurement and associated activities.

• Supports the division effort to transfer work and outsource work particularly in the capitalization period.

• Establishes policy for Engineering Department process such as manufacturing plan development and pre-work activities.

• Implementation of improved fabrication and machining processes. Efficiency and utilization improvement activities.

• Works closely with internal and external Customer organizations to ensure that requirements are fully met when performing the functions outlined above.

Serves as a key interface between the Engineering and Technical Services Department, other NOG-Barberton Departments and the Customer.

• Oversees key department activities in support of:

• Audits and assessments.

• Technical evaluations.

• Focuses personnel heavily on Safety and Quality.

• Manages the department’s execution of schedule and cost targets.

• Ensures that personnel are appropriately assigned and trained.

• Oversees the proposal process including, mainline estimates, E&TS manhours, Tool lists, etc.

 

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Minimum of Manager 1 experience (internal) or 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and SAP
